ARTICLE 7. NEUTRALISATION OF THE EVENT

  1. If, on the day of the test, the forecasts are worse than expected and it is considered that they endanger the runners (electrical storm, lack of visibility, strong storms, strong winds, etc.), the start may be delayed or the test may be stopped/neutralized if it is already underway.
  2. If after a few hours the conditions do not improve, the current stage of GTCM 2019 will be suspended.
  3. In this case, the riders must wait at the checkpoint where they have been stopped and wait for the indications of the Organization to be evacuated.

ARTICLE 8. ROUTE

  1. The test takes place joining different existing routes that border the coast between the towns of Caión (Ayuntamiento de A Laracha) and O Pindo (Ayuntamiento de Carnota). Among these routes are the Route dos Pinos no Mar, Camiño dos Faros, Camino de Santiago and Monte Pindo Route among others.

  4. During the route, natural spaces of great beauty and special protection protected by the legislation of the Natura 2000 Network (ZEPA and LIC-ZEC) are crossed. The Organization will ensure strict compliance with environmental standards. Any infringement of this type by any participant will result in disqualification from the competition.
  5. Some stretches are shared with road traffic, so participants must be particularly cautious and must respect the rules of circulation of the legislation in force.
  6. The route of the GTCM 2019 runs along public roads and paths open to other hikers, athletes and any citizen who wishes to travel through them. We can also find vehicles such as tractors or bicycles. Respect for other users will be obligatory at all times.
  7. Each night’s dinner will be used for the briefing of the next day’s stage. It will explain details of the route, as well as the latest details and weather forecast.
  8. In case of having to change the route for reasons of force majeure, it will be informed as far in advance as possible.
  9. The length, unevennesses, refreshments and cutting times of each of the stages can be consulted on the test website http://www.gtcm.run.

ARTICLE 9. SIGNALLING

  1. The entire test will be signposted with beaconing tape as well as its own posters.
  2. The participant will be obliged to bring any GPS device that allows him to consult the route in moments of doubt. The Organization will not have GPS devices.
  3. The Organization will make available to participants, in time and form, the tracks of each of the stages and variants, if any, before the start of the race.
  4. The participants will be responsible for downloading the track through the website http://www.gtcm.run, uploading it to the GPS and checking its proper functioning. The participants are also responsible for the maintenance and battery charging of the GPS before each stage.
  5. Finally, the Organization will provide a set of maps of all the stages on a legible scale in order to follow the marked route without problems.
  6. It will be necessary for each participant to carry the map of each stage that is being held as well as know how to interpret it if necessary.
  7. The Organization will notify conveniently in each briefing session of the details of the next day’s stage. Sessions to be held during dinners.

ARTICLE 10. SEMI-AUTONOMY AND PROVISIONS

  1. The race will be conducted in conditions of semi-autosuficiencia, ie each participant will be responsible for managing the drink and food needed to perform each stage. The GTCM 2019 is a test that requires physical and mental preparation, proper force management, hydration and nutrition. In this sense, it is highly recommended to have experience in long distance activities and disputed in medium or high mountains.
  2. The Organization will provide between two and four refreshments (depending on the length of each stage) solid and liquid (they will be informed in time and form in the section of the web referring to the notifications of the test). At the end of each stage there will be a complete refreshment for all participants.

ARTICLE 11. CUTOFF TIMES

  1. The table of cut-off times for the different stages will be published on the official GTCM 2019 website.
  2. Participants who arrive at a checkpoint later than the time limit will be automatically disqualified from the stage. They may freely decide to continue the stage under their full responsibility, previously informing the Organization of the decision to continue.
  3. The disqualification for time will not imply any type of total or partial refund of the amount of the inscription.
  4. The participant disqualified for time will be able to take part in the start of the next stage but will no longer be considered FINISHER of GTCM 2019.

ARTICLE 12. ABANDONMENT

  1. Participants who decide to leave GTCM 2019 must withdraw from one of the checkpoints and notify the Organization. Only a serious situation or accident will justify a participant leaving at another point on the course, as this would mean a rescue either by land or by air.
  2. The Organization only undertakes to transport participants to the end point of each stage when they have left at a control point with motorized access.
  3. The Organization will transport participants who have left the race as long as the optimal development of the race is assured and provided that the health of the participant is not compromised.
  4. The Organization guarantees the totality of the contracted services in spite of not continuing in competition.
  5. The participant who abandons in any of the stages will not be able to continue in competition and will not be considered FINISHER of GTCM 2019.
  6. In case of abandonment of one of the members of the couple, the other participant may choose to continue in competition in individual mode respecting the accumulated times of the previous stages. If he completes the GTCM 2019 he will be considered FINISHER but he will not be part of the official classification, since this one is only considered taking into account the classifications for couples that have registered and have taken the start in the first stage of the GTCM 2019. In addition he will not be able to enter the individual classification since it is supposed that in the stages that he has gone in pair he has been able to make better times than the majority of the individual participants when going always accompanied.
  7. The medical assistance and/or the Organization may force a participant to leave, or force him to make a stop, if they consider that he is in a situation of risk to their health.
  8. Abandonment does not imply any total or partial refund of the registration fee.

Failure to comply with this basic competition rule will result in a time penalty for the offending couple.
